  1. The pre-tour hotel rate is available for Sunday, August 2 and Monday August 3. Formally, the pre-tour day is Monday, August, 3rd only. On Monday, breakfast, lunch, and lounge room and projectors (for practicing talks) will be available for participants to get settled at the hotel. Group tours start after noon on Monday: the morning is free from obligations.Note the Sunday check-in time is 3 pm (15:00). Please make individual arrangements for yourself, if you need an earlier check-in on Sunday or on Monday

Reduced rates, meals, and lounge facilities are pre-arranged at Seattle Airport Marriot Hotel. A frequent shuttle bus takes guests from the Arrivals Area to the hotel. The hotel features a large atrium and swimming pool.

The relatively inexpensive airport hotel offers easy access to Seattle City Center by Link Light Rail.

Bus transportation from the Marriot will be provided for Downtown Hop On/Hop Off, Argosy Harbor, and Elysian Brewery tour on Monday only. Attendees are responsible for transportation around the Seattle area at other times.

If you want to stay in Downtown Seattle, book early as these hotels are expensive ($400-700) and often unavailable in August due to heavy conference and tourist activities.

If you are considering spending additional time in the USA, the Puget Sound Area (Seattle) is fantastic! Since the Pre- and Post-tours visit the Cascade Mountains, consider tours of San Juan Islands, Vancouver Island (Canada) or the Olympic Peninsula. For example, the Olympic Peninsula National Park offers rainforests, mountains, fishing towns, native American reservations and rugged coastal areas all within a couple days drive. Ferry boats and sea planes connect the many islands in Puget Sound. Further amazing destinations include the Oregon Coast, Portland and the Columbia River Gorge among many others.
